Mac Zotero Default Library Path

This Zotero plugin adds the functionality to perform an OCR for selected PDFs in Zotero. Currently tailored for the use with Tesseract OCR.

Prerequisites

  • Tesseract OCR is installed
    • for Windows see https://github.com/UB-Mannheim/tesseract/wiki
    • for Linux, Mac see https://github.com/tesseract-ocr/tesseract/wiki
  • pdftoppm from poppler library is downloaded and copied to the other scripts in the Zotero directory

Create a text file containing the full path to this directory, name the file zotero-ocr@bib.uni-mannheim.de, and place it in the extensions subdirectory of your Zotero profile directory. Restart Zotero to try the latest code changes. The source code is released under GNU Affero General Public License v3. Installation

The /Library folder is hidden by default, but you can open it from the Finder by holding down Option, clicking the Go menu, and selecting Library. You can also press Cmd-Shift-G in Finder and copy the path above to navigate to that folder. Feb 11, 2020  Zotero will not show individual titles when selecting which records to import, so titles in a list will be shown as 'Display full record.' After you import them, the titles will display correctly in your Zotero collection. Subject tags in library records will be saved into the tags field in Zotero. Dec 11, 2018  Zotero can't automatically capture citation info from regular web pages, but you can still add them to your Zotero library. To save a citation to a web page: Open your library by clicking the Zotero button Click the “Create new item” button to save the citation. Zotero automatically attaches a “snapshot” of the page to the citation.

To install the extension:

  • Download the XPI file of the latest release.
  • In Zotero, go to Tools → Add-ons and drag the .xpi onto the Add-ons window.
  • Possibly, adjust the path to Tesseract in the add-on options.

Build and release

Run build.sh script, which creates a new .xpi file.

For a new release, run the script release.sh, push the code changes, publish a new release on GitHub and attach the .xpi file there.
